NY Arts Salon “gfSpace” is private gallery of contemporary art, fashion and design.

http://www.gfspace.net/

I’ve been lucky to be invited to gfSpace for almost a year now. And every time I was able to attend I was far from being disappointed, in fact I always felt like I learned something NEW about art and about people, because people that are around you at this event deserve a separate article.

But first, let me tell you about the lovely owner of gfSpace: Giovanna Federico is an intriguing person…I could even easily have sad: she’s international woman of mystery

Pretty, well traveled and educated, vibrant with great personality Italian -that would be enough for somebody else, but not for our friend Giovanna…She creates this salon that NOT ONLY gives road to young artists and showing works of well established ones, BUT brings people together-and in our Day and Age-This truly deserves recognition.

And, are we talking about SOHO nowadays???…it’s like blast from the past…among sea of retail horror…a little island of art spirit reminds.

Among the artists who were represented that night I want to mention Jon-Paul Rodriguez (see first and second photos above), whose mixed media on paper with cut out details are fresh and inspiring. I found his work to be very much aligned with the artist own personality (I’m glad that I had a chance to meet him and his fellow artists from FIT at the event)-positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to Life and ART. www.jonpaulrodriguez.com

Then later on in the soirée - there was this amazingly looking human being (or at least we think he is one, also he might be genetically engineered or sent here on Earth from another planet): Quinntin Phelps, who very convincingly presented his vision on importance of beauty and grooming in everyday life and gave his expert opinion on volunteers' looks among attendees. And if anybody who looks as perfect as Quinntin can speak his mind to revel his ideas-we’ve got to listen and memorize!!! www.QuinntinPhelps.com

Did I mentioned that during exuberating art exhibition we were drinking vino, having d’oeuvres and mingling with big time attitude…??

The salon space was decorated by Ikebana Master, Junko Miura www.ikebanaflowers-ny.com,

Her tasteful arrangements added nice twist of decorative zest to the air of sophistication of art and glamorous conversations of that evening.

With all in all - after time spent I left being inspired with new ideas; desire to own some pieces of art from that salon and a BIG smile!!
